Interior
The Old Stone School building is comprised of the original
spacious school room with a three-level addition to
the rear of the structure added in 1988. The usable
living space is over 1,800 square feet.
The addition has private
access, so it can be utilized separately or very complimentary
to the one room school house. The main level of the
addition features a kitchen, dining room and living
room area. An oak spiral staircase leads to the upper
level, which features a handsome office and intimate
meeting loft with views of the surrounding hills and
Big Horn Mountains. A wood & metal spiral staircase
leads down to the fully finished basement level featuring
a bedroom, a utility/work room with washer/dryer and
a storage room able to be accessed from both the addition
and the school room.
The school room has
original fir flooring and 11’ ceiling. Thick stone
walls are insulated inside with sheetrock above and
tongue in groove pine paneling below. Track lighting
and deep set oak-trimmed windows light the room, which
also features a large, unusual wood stove. The interior
hallway features a stunning, raw sandstone wall, and
never fails to get compliments.
The building is wired
for high speed Internet access and satellite television.
Clean town water from the taps and a well maintained
private sewer system service the building.
Because of the special
design of the addition and configuration with the school
house building, the multitude of potential uses include,
but are not limited to: a primary residence, vacation
home, hunting lodge, arts studio, gallery, bookstore,
antique store, coffee shop/café, commercial offices,
healing arts practice, or tourist shop and information
center.
